Our client is looking for a diligent and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join their busy kitchen team in Portsmouth . This role is essential for the smooth running of the kitchen, involving the cleaning of dishes, kitchen equipment, and premises, as well as assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks. You will play a vital part in maintaining a hygienic and efficient working environment, ensuring that the kitchen operates seamlessly. Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, cutlery, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including floors, surfaces, and storage areas.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables, washing produce, and portioning ingredients.
- Dispose of waste and recycling correctly according to established procedures.
- Ensure the kitchen environment adheres to strict health and safety regulations.
- Support the kitchen team by managing stock levels of cleaning supplies and reporting any shortages.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar cleaning role is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work efficiently and hygienically in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy items.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
