About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to support their catering operations in Stoke-on-Trent . In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, washing dishes, and assisting the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and a positive attitude. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation, supporting chefs and contributing to a safe working space for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitise dishes, cutlery, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen floors, surfaces, and walls.
• Dispose of waste and recycling responsibly, following established procedures.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables and simple chopping.
• Help to receive and store deliveries, ensuring correct rotation of stock.
• Support the kitchen team as needed, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Good physical stamina to handle standing for long periods and lifting.
• Understanding of basic hygiene and safety practices in a kitchen setting.
