Job Description
KS2 Teaching Assistant - Full‑Time, Long‑Term - Immediate Start
A supportive, community‑driven East London primary school with a strong reputation for inclusion, high expectations and excellent behaviour is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school offers a structured, nurturing environment where staff work collaboratively and pupils are encouraged to become confident, independent learners.
This is a full‑time, long‑term role starting ASAP , supporting pupils across KS2 and working closely with class teachers to deliver engaging, well‑organised learning.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing targeted support to KS2 pupils through small‑group and 1:1 interventions
- Supporting children with mild to moderate SEN needs (ASD, ADHD, speech & language, SEMH)
- Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and behaviour routines
- Helping pupils strengthen core skills in reading, writing, maths and problem‑solving
- Encouraging independence, resilience and positive learning habits
- Maintaining a calm, inclusive and structured classroom environment
- Following safeguarding procedures and communicating effectively with staff and parents
Requirements
- KS2 classroom experience is essential
- Some SEN experience within a primary school setting
- A degree is highly desirable, particularly in education or a related subject
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Strong communication skills, patience and a proactive, supportive approach
- Ability to commit to a long‑term, full‑time role starting immediately
- Professional, reliable and confident working within a busy primary environment
Pay
£100-£110 per day DOE
