About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Laboratory Equipment Technician to join their prestigious research and development facility in Cambridge . Key Responsibilities

• Install, set up, and calibrate complex laboratory instruments and equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on scientific apparatus.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime for research activities.
• Maintain detailed service records, equipment logs, and calibration certificates.
• Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in compliance with safety regulations and laboratory protocols.
• Liaise with external vendors for specialized repairs or servicing as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technician installing, maintaining, or repairing scientific or technical equipment, preferably in a laboratory setting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems relevant to laboratory instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all tasks.
• Relevant technical qualification (e.g., HNC/HND in Engineering or Science) or equivalent experience.
