Land Agent

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Land Agent to manage a diverse portfolio of rural and agricultural properties near Plymouth . This role requires a blend of commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of land management, rural economy, and property law. You will be responsible for maximizing the value of land assets, managing tenancies, overseeing property maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The hybrid nature of this role allows for extensive client interaction and site visits, balanced with strategic planning and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage rural estates and agricultural holdings, including farmland, woodlands, and residential properties.
• Negotiate and administer agricultural tenancies and other property leases.
• Oversee property maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
• Advise clients on estate planning, land valuation , and optimal land use strategies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including health and safety, environmental, and agricultural regulations.
• Represent clients in negotiations with external bodies, such as statutory authorities and utility companies.

Requirements

• Degree in Rural Estate Management, Agriculture, Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience as a Land Agent or in a senior rural property management role.
• Thorough knowledge of agricultural and property law, tenancy agreements, and estate management practices.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and client management skills.
• Proficiency in estate management software and standard office applications.
• Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is highly advantageous.
