Landscape Designer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and skilled Landscape Designer to join their team based in Reading , with a hybrid working model. This role focuses on developing innovative and sustainable landscape designs for a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and public spaces. You will work closely with clients, architects, and construction teams to bring design concepts to life, ensuring aesthetic appeal, functionality, and environmental sensitivity. This is an exciting opportunity for a designer to contribute to impactful projects within the Berkshire region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed landscape design plans, including site analysis, concept development, and detailed drawings using CAD software.
• Develop planting plans, hardscape designs, and irrigation strategies.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and translate them into creative and practical landscape solutions.
• Prepare specifications, cost estimates, and tender documents for landscape projects.
• Liaise with contractors during the construction phase to ensure designs are implemented accurately and to a high standard.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in landscape architecture, sustainable design practices, and materials.

Requirements

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Landscape Architecture, Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in landscape design, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and preferably Lumion or similar rendering software.
• Strong understanding of horticulture, soil science, and environmental principles relevant to landscape design.
• Excellent visual communication, presentation, and client management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
