Laser Setter Operator
Location: Dudley
Pay: £14.00 per hour (Morning Shift) | £14.50 per hour (Afternoon Shift)
Job Type: Temp to Perm
Jobsworth Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Laser Setter Operator to join a well-established engineering company in Dudley.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position with a busy manufacturer that offers consistent hours, a supportive working environment and the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.
Shift Pattern
Alternating Weekly Shifts
Week 1 - Morning Shift
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00am - 2:30pm
Week 2 - Afternoon Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - 11:30pm
- Friday: 2:00pm - 6:00pm
The Role
As a Laser Setter Operator, you'll be responsible for setting and operating laser cutting machinery, ensuring production runs efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Your duties will include:
- Setting and operating flatbed laser cutting machines.
- Loading and unloading sheet metal.
- Sorting finished components ready for dispatch.
- Carrying out quality inspections on completed parts.
- Reading and working from engineering drawings.
- Completing routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area.
- Working to production targets while following all health and safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience setting laser cutting machinery.
- Experience operating flatbed laser machines.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- A manufacturing, engineering or sheet metal background.
- Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
- A reliable attitude and strong work ethic.
- A valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
