About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Aerospace Propulsion Engineer to spearhead critical projects from their facility in Derby . This senior role requires a deep technical understanding of aircraft engine systems and a proven ability to lead engineering teams in the design, development, and testing of next-generation propulsion technologies. You will play a vital part in ensuring the performance, efficiency, and reliability of our aerospace propulsion solutions, working within a highly collaborative and technically focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and development of advanced aerospace propulsion systems and components.
- Manage engineering projects related to propulsion systems, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and technical specifications.
- Oversee engine testing, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting of issues.
- Ensure all propulsion system designs meet stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to ensure successful product realization.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of propulsion engineers.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a focus on propulsion.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace propulsion systems engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of gas turbine engine design, thermodynamics, and performance analysis.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex technical projects.
- Familiarity with CFD, FEA, and other relevant simulation tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
