About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead AI Engineer to spearhead development in AI and Emerging Technologies at their Newcastle upon Tyne facility. You will lead a team of talented engineers in designing, building, and deploying sophisticated AI solutions that drive business value. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable AI systems and machine learning pipelines.
- Manage and mentor a team of AI engineers, fostering their technical growth.
- Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of AI products, from conception to deployment.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define AI strategy and roadmaps.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices in MLOps, data governance, and model deployment.
- Drive innovation by exploring and integrating new AI techniques and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
- Experience with MLOps tools and frameworks for model deployment and monitoring.
