Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute a research strategy focused on advancing core AI capabilities, such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, and generative models.
- Lead a team of researchers in designing and conducting experiments, analyzing results, and developing novel AI algorithms.
- Publish research findings in prestigious conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) and journals.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate research breakthroughs into practical product features and applications.
- Mentor and guide junior researchers, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and continuous learning within the Birmingham research hub.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related field, with a strong publication record.
- 8+ years of experience in AI research, with significant experience leading research projects and teams.
- Deep expertise in one or more AI subfields, such as deep learning, computer vision, NLP, or robotics.
- Proven ability to design and implement complex AI models and algorithms.
