Lead Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Lead Architect to spearhead design initiatives from their Newcastle upon Tyne office. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing architectural designs for a diverse range of projects, from initial brief to final completion. This senior position requires a visionary individual with a strong understanding of design principles, technical execution, and project leadership. You will guide design teams, engage with clients, and ensure the highest standards of design quality and innovation are met. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for major architectural projects, developing concepts and detailed design solutions.
• Oversee and mentor a team of architects and technologists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Engage directly with clients to understand their vision, present design proposals, and manage expectations.
• Ensure all designs meet aesthetic, functional, and regulatory requirements, including UK building codes.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, M&E consultants, and other specialists throughout the project lifecycle.
• Champion sustainable design practices and innovative material applications.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Architecture (RIBA Part III or equivalent) and registration with the relevant professional body.
• Significant experience (minimum 7 years post-qualification) in leading architectural design from concept to completion.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and client relationships.
• Expertise in architectural design software , including advanced proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of construction technology, materials, and procurement processes in the UK.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
