About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Lead Automotive Electrician to oversee electrical system diagnostics and repairs at their busy facility in Coventry . You will be responsible for leading a team of electricians, ensuring the highest standards of work and efficiency, particularly on complex electrical and electronic systems. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive electrical principles, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage workflow and mentor junior staff. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the automotive electrical team, assigning tasks and overseeing quality of workmanship.
• Diagnose and repair intricate electrical faults, including wiring harnesses, ECUs, lighting systems, and sensor networks.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to identify root causes of electrical issues on various vehicle types.
• Develop and implement standardized repair procedures for common electrical problems.
• Provide technical guidance and training to apprentice and junior electricians.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and environmental regulations in the workshop.

Requirements

• Significant experience as an Automotive Electrician , with a demonstrable track record in complex diagnostics.
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Automotive Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Expertise with automotive diagnostic tools, programming software, and wiring diagrams.
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures, including CAN bus, LIN bus, and power management systems.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a technical team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate others.
