About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Automotive Software Engineer to spearhead their software development efforts from a remote capacity. This pivotal role involves leading a talented team in the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated software solutions for next-generation automotive systems, including infotainment, autonomous driving, and connected car technologies. You will play a crucial part in shaping the software architecture, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of robust, high-performance software that defines the future of mobility, all within a fully remote, collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Architect, design, and develop scalable and reliable software solutions for automotive embedded systems, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and systems engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure the code quality and maintainability of the software solutions.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role within the automotive industry.
- Extensive experience with C/C++, Python, or other relevant programming languages, and embedded systems development.
- Deep understanding of automotive software architectures, AUTOSAR, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Proven experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and tools (Git, Jira).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage remote teams effectively.
