About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Automotive Software Engineer to spearhead their remote software development initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying sophisticated software solutions for next-generation vehicles. This leadership position involves guiding a distributed team of engineers, defining architectural strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative software that powers critical automotive functions. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to bring groundbreaking automotive technology to market, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within a fully remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of embedded software for automotive control units, infotainment systems, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
- Architect scalable and robust software solutions, adhering to industry standards and best practices for automotive software development.
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and fostering a collaborative remote working environment.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration with hardware components.
- Drive innovation by researching and implementing new technologies and methodologies in automotive software engineering.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in embedded software development within the automotive industry, with a strong track record of leading projects.
- In-depth knowledge of C/C++, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
- Experience with software architecture design and agile development methodologies.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a remote team.
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR standards and safety-critical systems (e.g., ISO 26262) is a significant advantage.
