Lead Automotive Test Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Test Engineer to spearhead their quality assurance efforts for innovative automotive products. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to contribute from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test strategies, leading a remote testing team, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability for our client's vehicle systems. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced test plans and strategies for automotive software and hardware components.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of test engineers, providing guidance and technical support.
• Design and automate test cases using scripting languages and testing frameworks.
• Conduct rigorous performance, functional, and regression testing of vehicle systems.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain and improve the test infrastructure and tooling to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive experience in automotive testing, including functional, performance, and system integration testing.
• Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing testing projects.
• Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, CAPL).
• Deep understanding of automotive electronic systems and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet).
• Experience with requirements management and defect tracking tools.
