Lead Aviation Safety Officer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Lead Aviation Safety Officer to spearhead their safety initiatives in a fully remote capacity. This senior position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust safety management system (SMS) that ensures the highest standards of safety across all aviation operations. You will lead investigations, develop risk mitigation strategies, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. This role requires a leader with exceptional analytical skills and the ability to drive safety improvements independently from a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, hazard identification, and develop effective mitigation strategies for all operational areas.
• Lead and oversee incident and accident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and timely implementation of corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement with all levels of staff.
• Prepare and present regular safety performance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure all safety documentation and records are meticulously maintained and readily available for audits.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (8+ years) in aviation safety management, operations, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, risk management principles, and accident investigation methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams and influence safety culture from a remote setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) are highly desirable.
