Lead BIM Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lead BIM Architect for a fully remote position, supporting projects with a connection to Cardiff . You will be responsible for setting and maintaining BIM standards across various projects, leading the technical design process, and mentoring a team of architectural technologists and designers. This role requires a deep understanding of BIM workflows, standards, and implementation, ensuring efficient and coordinated project delivery. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, passionate about leveraging technology to enhance architectural design and construction processes, operating entirely remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, and enforce BIM standards and protocols across all projects.
• Lead the technical design development, ensuring coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Oversee the creation and management of BIM models, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to BIM coordinators, architectural technologists, and junior architects.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to define BIM execution plans and project delivery strategies.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on BIM models and project documentation.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Architecture or Architectural Technology.
• Extensive experience in BIM implementation and management within architectural practices.
• Expert-level proficiency with Revit and a thorough understanding of the wider Autodesk BIM ecosystem.
• Strong knowledge of international BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650).
• Demonstrated experience in leading design teams and managing technical aspects of complex projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, adaptable to a remote work environment.
