Lead Biostatistician

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Biostatistician to join their world-class research team in Southampton . This senior role will involve providing expert statistical support and leadership for clinical trials and research studies across various therapeutic areas. You will be responsible for the statistical design of studies, development of analysis plans, and interpretation of results, ensuring methodological rigor and compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Provide statistical expertise for the design of clinical trials and research protocols, including sample size calculations and randomization schemes.
• Develop comprehensive Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) for studies.
• Perform complex statistical analyses using SAS, R, or other statistical software packages.
• Interpret statistical results and collaborate with clinical teams to translate findings into actionable insights.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and respond to queries from health authorities.
• Mentor and guide junior biostatisticians and contribute to departmental best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in biostatistics, with a significant focus on clinical trial design and analysis in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as SAS and/or R.
• Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH) and their application to statistical analysis.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing statistical aspects of research projects in Southampton .
