About the Role

Our client is seeking an visionary Lead Blockchain Architect to spearhead the design and implementation of next-generation blockchain solutions from their base in Newcastle upon Tyne . This senior position requires a deep understanding of distributed ledger technologies, consensus mechanisms, and the broader crypto and blockchain ecosystem. You will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap, ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of our blockchain infrastructure, and guiding a team of talented developers. This is a strategic role for an experienced architect who is passionate about innovation and eager to make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving world of blockchain technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the technical architecture for all blockchain-related projects.
• Evaluate and select appropriate blockchain platforms, tools, and technologies for various use cases.
• Oversee the development of smart contracts , ensuring they are secure, efficient, and align with architectural standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of blockchain engineers, fostering best practices in design and development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable blockchain solutions.
• Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure the integrity and security of the blockchain network.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software architecture, with at least 5 years focused on blockchain and distributed ledger technologies .
• In-depth knowledge of various blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Polkadot) and their underlying principles.
• Expertise in designing and implementing complex smart contract systems and decentralized applications.
• Strong understanding of cryptography, security protocols, and network architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to architect complex, high-availability systems.
