Lead Blockchain Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking an exceptional Lead Blockchain Engineer to spearhead their pioneering initiatives from a remote-first standpoint. Based out of Newcastle upon Tyne but operating entirely remotely, this role offers the chance to architect and lead the development of groundbreaking blockchain solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated blockchain platforms and decentralized applications (dApps).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of blockchain developers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Define and enforce high standards for code quality, security, and performance across all blockchain projects.
• Collaborate closely with product management and other stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technical roadmaps.
• Evaluate and integrate new blockchain technologies and tools to enhance platform capabilities.
• Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance of distributed ledger technologies .

Requirements

• Extensive experience (7+ years) in software engineering, with a significant focus on blockchain development and architecture.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading engineering teams and managing complex technology projects.
• Deep understanding of various blockchain protocols , consensus mechanisms, and smart contract languages (e.g., Solidity, Go, Rust).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of cryptographic principles and cybersecurity best practices in a blockchain context.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a distributed team.
