About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Blockchain Engineer to spearhead their blockchain initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will lead a team of talented developers, guiding the technical direction for our client's blockchain platform and driving the development of innovative solutions within the crypto and blockchain sector. This senior role demands a blend of technical depth, strategic thinking, and leadership acumen, empowering you to shape the future of decentralized technologies for our organization. You will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, ensuring our client remains at the forefront of the industry through robust architecture and high-quality code.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of blockchain developers, overseeing project lifecycles from conception to deployment.
Architect and design scalable, secure, and performant blockchain systems and decentralized applications.
Define and enforce coding standards , best practices, and development processes for the blockchain team.
Collaborate with senior management and product stakeholders to align technical strategy with business objectives.
Oversee the implementation and optimization of smart contracts and on-chain logic.

Requirements

Extensive experience as a Blockchain Engineer with at least 3 years in a lead or senior capacity.
Deep expertise in blockchain architecture, distributed systems, and consensus algorithms.
Strong proficiency in programming languages for smart contracts, such as Solidity or Go.
Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex software development projects.
Experience with various blockchain protocols and ecosystems, including Ethereum and Layer 2 solutions.
