Job Description
Lead Building Regulations Principal Designer
An established architectural practice in North Yorkshire is seeking a Lead Building Regulations Principal Designer to help develop its growing BRPD offering from its Stokesley office.
This is a rare opportunity to take a leading position within a well-established architectural environment, combining hands-on technical delivery with responsibility for developing processes, supporting design teams and growing the service.
The role will include significant involvement in Higher-Risk Building projects, making it particularly suitable for a Principal Designer with strong Building Safety Act expertise.
The Lead BRPD Role
The Lead Building Regulations Principal Designer will advise clients and design teams throughout the Building Regulations compliance process, coordinating designers and ensuring compliance is demonstrated throughout project delivery.
You will lead on Higher-Risk Building matters, including Gateway submissions, design compliance reviews, change control and Building Safety Regulator engagement.
Alongside this, you will help develop the practice's BRPD procedures, support internal training and contribute to bids and the continued commercial development of the service.
The Lead Building Regulations Principal Designer
Experienced Building Regulations Principal Designer or Building Control professional
Higher-Risk Building experience
Detailed Building Regulations knowledge
Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act
Experience dealing with Gateway submissions
RICS, CABE, RIBA, ARB or CIAT advantageous
Confident advising clients and architectural teams
Desire to help build and develop a specialist serviceIn Return?
