About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Buyer to join their organisation on a fully remote basis. This role is crucial for managing strategic sourcing initiatives and driving cost efficiencies across key procurement categories. You will be responsible for leading complex negotiations, developing category strategies, and mentoring junior members of the purchasing team. Working remotely, you will leverage your expertise to build and maintain strong relationships with a global supplier base, ensuring the procurement of high-quality goods and services that meet the company's exacting standards, contributing significantly to the company's financial health and operational success in a virtual setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of category sourcing strategies to achieve significant cost savings and supply chain optimization.
• Manage high-value supplier contracts, including negotiation, renewal, and performance management.
• Conduct in-depth market analysis and supplier due diligence to identify risks and opportunities.
• Mentor and guide purchasing staff, providing expertise and support to enhance team capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define specifications, requirements, and project timelines for procurement activities.
• Ensure adherence to all ethical sourcing policies and regulatory compliance in purchasing practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (8+ years) in strategic sourcing and procurement , with a proven ability to lead complex negotiations and manage major supplier relationships.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category strategies in a remote environment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market data to inform sourcing decisions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, effective for remote team leadership.
• Proficiency with advanced procurement software and ERP systems.
• Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is desirable.
