Lead Chemical Engineer - New Product Introduction

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Chemical Engineer to spearhead their New Product Introduction efforts in Glasgow . This role is critical in translating innovative product concepts into commercially viable chemical manufacturing processes. You will lead a team of engineers and scientists, guiding the entire process from early-stage development through to pilot plant trials and full-scale manufacturing readiness. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the process design and scale-up activities for new chemical products, ensuring robustness and economic viability.
• Develop comprehensive process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and equipment specifications for new manufacturing lines.
• Oversee pilot plant trials, analyze results, and make data-driven recommendations for process optimization.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing departments to ensure seamless product launch.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively for new product introduction projects.
• Ensure all new processes are designed to meet stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering .
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in chemical process development and scale-up, with a significant focus on new product introduction.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering projects and teams.
• Expertise in process design, simulation (e.g., Aspen Plus), and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, separation processes, and process safety principles.
• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
