About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Chemical Engineer to spearhead their operations in Milton Keynes , focusing on the development and production of speciality chemicals. This leadership role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of chemical processes and a proven ability to manage complex projects and teams. You will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of chemical manufacturing processes for speciality products.
- Manage and mentor a team of chemical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Develop and execute project plans, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Conduct thorough hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and implement necessary safety protocols.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and build strong relationships.
- Drive initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall plant performance.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering .
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in the speciality chemicals sector, with significant leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in process design , scale-up, and troubleshooting of complex chemical syntheses.
- Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
