About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Lead Chemical Process Engineer to spearhead their process development initiatives. This is a fully remote opportunity, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere in the UK. You will lead a team of engineers in the design, optimization, and implementation of advanced chemical processes, driving innovation and operational excellence. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex projects and mentoring team members in a virtual setting. You will be pivotal in shaping the future of our client's chemical engineering capabilities, ensuring sustainable growth and technological leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of novel chemical processes and technologies.
- Oversee process simulations, feasibility studies, and economic evaluations for new projects.
- Manage and mentor a team of chemical engineers, providing technical guidance and performance feedback remotely.
- Develop and implement robust process safety management (PSM) systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with research and development teams to translate laboratory findings into scalable industrial processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability goals.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering .
- 10+ years of progressive experience in process engineering, with significant leadership responsibilities.
- Expertise in process design software , reaction engineering, and separation technologies.
- Proven success in managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects in a remote setting.
- Strong understanding of HAZOP , LOPA, and other safety assessment methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective remote team management.
