About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Chemical Process Engineer to head their process engineering team in Reading . This hybrid role offers the opportunity to lead a team of engineers, drive the development and implementation of innovative chemical processes, and ensure operational excellence across multiple projects. You will be responsible for technical oversight, project planning, and mentoring junior staff, playing a pivotal role in the company's strategic growth and technological advancement. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex chemical processes from concept to completion.
- Manage and mentor a team of chemical and process engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Oversee process hazard analyses, risk assessments, and the implementation of safety measures.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for process engineering matters with clients and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in process design and execution.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering .
- 8+ years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in process design, simulation, scale-up, and project management.
- Strong knowledge of process safety management principles and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and priorities in a hybrid work setting.
