About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Lead Chemical Process Engineer to drive key projects within their organization, operating remotely. This leadership role demands a strong technical background coupled with excellent project management and team leadership skills. You will be instrumental in the conceptualization, design, and implementation of complex chemical processes, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new chemical processes and the optimization of existing ones.
- Develop detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct rigorous process simulations and analyses to ensure operability, safety, and efficiency.
- Manage process engineering aspects of capital projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior process engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, project management, and R&D, to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with a strong focus on design and development.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex process design projects.
- Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and P&ID creation tools.
- Strong understanding of process safety principles, HAZOP analysis, and relevant industry standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, demonstrated in a remote work context.
