Lead Civil Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Civil Engineer to spearhead critical infrastructure projects in Coventry . This senior position involves taking ownership of project delivery, from initial concept and design through to construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for technical leadership, ensuring the highest standards of engineering practice are maintained while driving efficiency and innovation. Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direction for a portfolio of civil infrastructure projects.
• Oversee the detailed design, engineering calculations , and production of construction documentation.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant national and local planning regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
• Manage project risks, scope, and quality assurance processes to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, consultants, and construction teams.
• Review and approve designs, reports, and specifications submitted by team members and external parties.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent, with a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in managing and delivering large-scale civil engineering infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in structural design , drainage systems , and transportation engineering.
• Proficiency with project management software and advanced CAD/BIM tools .
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate engineering teams effectively.
