About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Civil Engineer to join their team in Plymouth , working a hybrid model. This senior role requires a strong technical background in civil infrastructure design and a proven ability to lead project teams. You will be responsible for the technical oversight of major projects, ensuring high standards of design, quality, and safety are maintained. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and management of civil engineering projects, from initial concept through to completion.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers and technicians.
• Develop and review detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant legislation, standards, and environmental requirements.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Contribute to business development and the winning of new projects.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer status (CEng MICE or equivalent) is essential.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant design software and standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team .
