Lead Clinical Research Education Facilitator

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic registered professional with a passion for research and teaching to join the Research Training Team at BFT on a part-time basis.

Main duties of the job

The Lead Clinical Research Education Facilitator will ensure the provision of high-quality specialist research training and education across BFT. They will lead the formulation and delivery of a tailored in-house research education programme for clinical research staff and implement initiatives to engage clinical staff with research and embed within clinical practice. The postholder will also maintain a clinical presence, ensuring that both research and clinical staff are well supported in delivering high quality research to patients. We are looking for an individual with leadership experience and a proven record of work in research. You will be self-motivated, driven and have a passion for teaching and education. The role requires close working with a variety of colleagues across BFT, therefore excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are a must. Education & Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nurse, Midwife, Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP) or Allied Health Professional with current professional registration
• Undergraduate Degree in relevant subject
• ICH GCP training
• Recognised Teaching & Assessment qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable

• Post graduate qualification in research/education/teaching or equivalent experience
• Educated to master's degree level or equivalent experience and knowledge

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced presentation/facilitation skills
• Skills in developing and implementing high quality teaching materials
• Comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory and legal frameworks related to undertaking clinical research
• Innovative and able to create a variety of learning opportunities for staff
• Advanced presentation/facilitation skills in order to present complex and sensitive information to large groups using a variety of methods
• Knowledge of research design and methodology
• Track record of successful leadership and/or people management
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and willingness to develop technological computer skills further
• Knowledge of Data Protection Act 1984 and Caldicott principles
• Excellent leadership skills with proactive attitude towards the management of change
• Ability to prioritise and delegate ensuring effective and efficient workload completion
• Knowledge of the framework for pre and post registration education
• Ability to manage databases with a working knowledge of I.T. including Microsoft and PowerPoint
• Excellent role model
• High level of self-awareness, with ability to identify and address development needs

Desirable

• Project management experience
• Evidence of good management and organisational skills

Experience

Essential

• Extensive experience as Research nurse, midwife, AHP or CRP
• Experience in leading teaching and mentorship specifically in relation to research
• Experience of planning, designing and facilitating training
• Research management experience
• Extensive clinical experience (nursing/midwifery or Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP)/Allied Health Professional (AHP)

Desirable

• Experience of the development and delivery of a formal education and training programme

• Ability to influence and motivate people to achieve progress
• Ability to work flexibly according to role need
• Enthusiasm for and desire to embed research within clinical practice
