Lead Cloud Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Cloud Engineer to spearhead their cloud infrastructure initiatives. This role is fully remote, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions, primarily on AWS or Azure. This is a critical leadership position where you will influence the company's cloud strategy, mentor a talented team of engineers, and drive innovation in cloud-native architectures, fostering a collaborative and high-performing remote engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Lead the design and implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployments and infrastructure provisioning.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of cloud environments through monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Mentor and guide a team of cloud engineers, fostering best practices and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for cloud environments and troubleshoot complex issues.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in cloud engineering and architecture, with a focus on AWS or Azure.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing complex cloud solutions.
• Deep understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes .
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Strong knowledge of networking, security best practices, and monitoring tools in cloud environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills for a remote working environment.
