About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Computational Biologist to spearhead their innovative research initiatives. This fully remote position offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of data-driven scientific discovery from anywhere. You will lead a team of bioinformaticians and computational scientists, developing and implementing advanced algorithms and pipelines to analyze large-scale biological datasets. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of computational biology projects, including genomic and transcriptomic data analysis.
- Develop and maintain robust bioinformatics pipelines for processing and interpreting large datasets.
- Mentor and guide a team of computational biologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.
- Collaborate with experimental biologists and data scientists to define research questions and experimental strategies.
- Present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, machine learning, and bioinformatics tools.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in computational biology, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries.
- Extensive experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and WGS/WES.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and biological pathway analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, lead teams, and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
