Lead Computational Biologist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Lead Computational Biologist to spearhead their data-driven research initiatives. Working remotely, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced computational strategies to analyze large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. This role is crucial for uncovering biological insights, identifying potential drug targets, and advancing our client's drug discovery pipeline. You will collaborate extensively with bench scientists and other computational experts, driving the interpretation of complex omics data. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and apply sophisticated computational methods for analyzing large biological datasets.
• Lead the design and execution of bioinformatics pipelines for genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to interpret results and generate actionable hypotheses.
• Manage and mentor a team of computational biologists, fostering a collaborative and productive remote working environment.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of computational biology research within the company.

Requirements

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Extensive experience in analyzing diverse biological data types (e.g., next-generation sequencing, microarrays).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.
• Proven experience in leading scientific projects and/or managing technical teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
