Lead Concept Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an inspiring and accomplished Lead Concept Artist to guide their art team in Liverpool . You will be responsible for establishing the visual direction and creating key concept art for our games, defining the look and feel of characters, environments, and props. This role requires exceptional artistic talent, a strong understanding of visual storytelling, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of concept artists. You will work closely with the art director and other departments to ensure a cohesive and visually stunning final product.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality concept art, including character designs, environmental paintings, and mood pieces.
• Define and communicate the artistic vision and style for projects to the concept art team.
• Lead, mentor, and provide feedback to concept artists, ensuring artistic quality and adherence to project goals.
• Collaborate with 3D artists to translate concept art into game assets.
• Develop and maintain visual bibles and reference materials for the art team in Liverpool .

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Concept Artist, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• A stunning portfolio demonstrating exceptional skills in character, environment, and prop design.
• Proficiency in industry-standard digital art software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or Painter.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, and composition.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, with experience working in a studio setting.
