About the Role

Our client is seeking an exceptional Lead Costume Designer to conceptualize and create stunning costumes for their upcoming theatre season, operating in a fully remote capacity. You will manage the entire costume process from initial concept and research through to final execution, working closely with production teams and garment makers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop original costume designs for all characters, adhering to script requirements and directorial concepts.
• Conduct thorough research into historical periods, styles, and cultural influences relevant to productions.
• Create detailed costume plots, renderings, and technical specifications for the wardrobe department.
• Oversee the construction, fitting, and alteration of all costumes to ensure a perfect fit and aesthetic.
• Manage the costume budget, sourcing materials and managing external suppliers effectively.
• Collaborate effectively with directors, set designers, and other creative team members via digital platforms.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience as a Costume Designer for theatre or film.
• A strong portfolio showcasing diverse design skills and creative range.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and traditional rendering techniques.
• Excellent understanding of fabric, construction, and garment manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage projects remotely and collaboratively.
