About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to spearhead their security initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . This leadership role involves architecting, implementing, and managing cutting-edge security solutions to protect the company's infrastructure and data from evolving cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions, including network security, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention.
• Oversee the incident response process, ensuring timely and effective containment, eradication, and recovery from security breaches.
• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, roadmaps, and strategic plans.
• Mentor and manage a team of cybersecurity engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities across the IT landscape.
• Collaborate with senior management and other departments to align security strategies with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (7+ years) in cybersecurity engineering , with at least 2 years in a lead or management capacity.
• Deep technical expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), identity and access management (IAM), and cryptography.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex security architectures and solutions.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and relevant compliance regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
