About the Role
Our client is looking for a visionary Lead Data Scientist to establish and guide their new Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning initiatives in Milton Keynes . In this critical role, you will be responsible for defining the strategy for AI/ML adoption, building and mentoring a team of data scientists, and overseeing the end-to-end development and deployment of predictive models and AI solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company's overarching AI and Machine Learning strategy .
- Lead a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Design, build, and deploy sophisticated machine learning models for applications such as predictive analytics, natural language processing, and computer vision.
- Collaborate with business units to identify high-impact AI/ML use cases and translate requirements into actionable data science projects.
- Establish best practices for data science workflows, including data sourcing, feature engineering, model validation, and MLOps.
- Communicate complex technical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science , with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Proven expertise in developing and deploying various machine learning algorithms (e.g., deep learning, gradient boosting, clustering).
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, and proficiency with ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
