Lead Data Scientist - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Data Scientist to spearhead their drug discovery initiatives from a remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the data science roadmap for drug discovery programs, setting ambitious goals and timelines.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and innovation.
• Develop and deploy advanced machine learning models for target identification, hit discovery, and lead optimization.
• Collaborate closely with biologists, chemists, and clinicians to translate complex biological problems into data-driven solutions.
• Architect and manage data pipelines, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and security for large-scale research datasets.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field with a focus on machine learning.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in applying ML/AI techniques to complex biological data (e.g., genomics, proteomics, clinical data).
• Strong proficiency in Python, R, and relevant ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, vital for a fully remote role.
