Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Data Scientist specializing in Energy Analytics to join their innovative team on a fully remote basis. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models for energy forecasting, demand prediction, and anomaly detection.
- Extract, clean, and transform large, complex datasets from various energy sources (e.g., smart meters, grid sensors, market data).
- Design and implement robust data pipelines and analytics infrastructure to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists, providing technical leadership and fostering best practices in statistical modelling and data analysis.
- Collaborate with domain experts, engineers, and product managers to identify business opportunities and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a quantitative field.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) as a Data Scientist, with a proven track record of leading analytical projects, preferably in the energy sector .
- Deep expertise in statistical modelling , machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
- Strong experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
