Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated machine learning models for various business applications.
- Mentor and manage a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance and fostering their professional development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to identify business needs and translate them into data science projects.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure for model training and inference.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science, and advocate for their adoption.
- Present complex findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in a lead or management role .
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and deploying machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, deep learning).
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, and experience with data science libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, experimental design, and data manipulation techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, comfortable working from our Birmingham office.
