About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Data Scientist to spearhead their machine learning initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, overseeing project lifecycles from ideation to production.
• Develop, train, and deploy advanced machine learning models for predictive analytics, classification, and forecasting.
• Identify new opportunities for leveraging data science and machine learning to solve business challenges.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, and marketing to integrate ML solutions.
• Design and conduct rigorous A/B tests and experiments to validate model performance and business impact.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in machine learning and AI.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of building and deploying ML models.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a technical team.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and extensive experience with ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, data mining, and machine learning algorithms.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and SQL.
