About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Data Scientist with a deep expertise in Machine Learning to spearhead their advanced analytics initiatives in Birmingham . This role is central to driving data-informed decision-making across the organization, leading a team of talented data scientists to develop and deploy sophisticated predictive models and algorithms. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists in developing and implementing machine learning models.
- Design and execute end-to-end data science projects, from problem definition to model deployment and monitoring.
- Develop, train, and evaluate predictive models for areas such as customer behavior, risk assessment, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data science problems.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence, and apply them to business challenges.
- Communicate complex analytical results and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in data science, with a significant focus on machine learning.
- Proven experience in leading data science teams and managing project lifecycles.
- Strong proficiency in Python or R, including relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Expertise in statistical modeling, data mining, and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms is highly desirable.
