About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Data Scientist to spearhead their data analytics initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will lead a team of data scientists and analysts, guiding the development and implementation of advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms. This is a strategic role focused on extracting actionable insights from complex datasets to inform business decisions and drive product innovation. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Develop and deploy sophisticated machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities to improve business outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to understand data needs and translate them into analytical projects.
• Design and implement A/B testing frameworks and experimental designs to evaluate product features and marketing campaigns.
• Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in data science , with a proven track record of leading projects and teams.
• Expertise in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R, and associated libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms , and data mining techniques.
• Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark) and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
