About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This critical role involves designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes. You will lead a small team, foster a culture of automation and reliability, and ensure the seamless operation of our production environments. This is an exciting chance to shape our DevOps strategy, implement innovative solutions, and drive efficiency across our software delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Develop and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment.
- Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure system security, performance, and reliability through proactive monitoring and incident response.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in DevOps engineering , with a proven track record of leading infrastructure projects.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Deep understanding of networking, security, and monitoring principles in a cloud environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
