Lead DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and deployment strategies in Birmingham . You will be instrumental in building and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments, automating operational processes, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive efficiency, improve reliability, and implement best practices in a hybrid work model, contributing to the seamless delivery of high-quality software services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for efficient software deployment and testing.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize application performance.
• Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across all environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and methodologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash , Python , or PowerShell.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical initiatives.
