About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and deployment initiatives in Birmingham . This critical role involves leading a team of engineers to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for automating and streamlining our development and deployment pipelines, ensuring system reliability, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) to support business needs.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Oversee system monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
- Mentor and guide a team of DevOps engineers, fostering skill development and best practices.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior or lead DevOps role, with a strong background in cloud environments.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Deep understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and system administration principles.
