Lead DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and operations initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure. You will play a critical role in fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams, automating processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our client's services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS or Azure .
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Develop and enforce infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment and performance.
• Establish and maintain security best practices across the infrastructure.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in DevOps roles with a focus on cloud platforms.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes .
• Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide technical strategy.
