About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and operations initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure. You will play a critical role in fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams, automating processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our client's services. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS or Azure .
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Develop and enforce infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment and performance.
- Establish and maintain security best practices across the infrastructure.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in DevOps roles with a focus on cloud platforms.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes .
- Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide technical strategy.
