About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and deployment operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This leadership role involves building and maintaining a highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of automation, CI/CD, and operational excellence across the engineering teams. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and testing.
- Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS , Azure, or GCP), focusing on scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance.
- Lead the adoption of DevOps best practices and provide technical guidance to development and operations teams.
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of the infrastructure and deployment processes.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering roles.
- Proven experience managing cloud environments, preferably AWS .
- Strong proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes .
- Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
