About the Role
Our client is searching for an experienced and visionary Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead their infrastructure and deployment initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure that supports rapid software development and deployment cycles. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage the CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.
- Oversee and optimize the company's cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), focusing on scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance.
- Lead incident response efforts, troubleshoot production issues, and implement preventative measures.
- Mentor and guide a team of DevOps engineers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing across the organization.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or a related field.
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and monitoring tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience managing technical teams in Newcastle upon Tyne .
